‘Ah-ah’ Talented Inspirational Women

Saturday, May 21st, 2011

My last post talked about hearing Phenomenal Statements from Inspirational Women at Bossy Mama event “Innovative Women” Spring Brunch.  The guest speakers inspired me but I cannot neglect to share the true ‘take-home’ Ah-Ah inspiration – the amazing women sitting around my table.

Leanna Chan, creator and founder of Little Blossom, beamed a happy smile and did what Leanna does the best, network everyone at the table and show sincere support for her fellow entrepreneurs.   I remember meeting Leanna for the first time at an Edmonton trade show.  Not only does she have that vivacious positive energy but she makes everyone feel such worth and importance.  She is a catalyst for camaraderie.  Check out her latest upcoming June event, Little Blossom Princess Parade at Cafe O’Play – true example of supporting others businesses and products.

Meeting Leanne Power, author, blogger and mompreneur, stirred something that I have felt strongly about when I was a past early childhood teacher – teaching the importance of self-worth, positive self image and healthy esteem to our children.  I was so impressed with her new book, You Are Sooooo Beautiful.  I shared a project that I have put on the ‘backburner of life’ since leaving the teaching profession.  Leanne, sparkled with enthusiasm and interest.  We are now planning to meet and talk further about collaborating!   Go meet Leanne on June 26th in Edmonton, Chapters Southpoint at her upcoming booksigning.

Maureen Connellan, an Edmonton baby and child lifestyle photographer, joined our table.  Of course any mom meeting another mother glowing with a beautiful pregnant tummy has to focus on the obvious – when are you due, is this your first?   When Maureen told me that she is mommy of 4 and soon to be five, I just signed a ‘wow’. I am always in awe of the capabilities of women to live life, procreate, nurture and still have the self-motivation, determination, will and ability to provide a business that supports and celebrates others. Maureen’s business is Tangible Moments Photography - She has such talent, an obvious eye for ‘sweetness’, and ability to capture that “picture that is worth a 1000 words’.   Maureen captured some breathtaking Bibagogo moments.   Thank you!

Last but not least, my mother.  My mother faithful stands beside me at events, function and activities that I involve myself in as a mom entrepreneur.   She, herself, is a true inspiration.  Career women, mom, wife, widow with 2 young children, business owner, fighter and survivor of cancer and grandmother.  My mother modelled the foundation that I needed to be a mom entrepreneur.  Plus, she still carries the record of single handedly selling more Bibagogos to other grandma’s like her.  Thanks mom for celebrating and supporting women that are motivated to succeed and do what they believe.

All these women are true entrepreneurs, with true talent and energy to invent, learn, organize, share, multi-task, support and nurture everyone, everyday.  I thank them for doing what they believe in.  I thank them all for being an inspiration to others.

A Type “A” Moms Answer Too Mess Free Infant!

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Andrea Page, FitmomCEO posted about the Bibagogo on her AndreaPageOnline blog:

Check this out. It ’s so funny how every new product makes me want to have another baby ( for 10 seconds ) . I also don’t get how I still get so excited about a bib,but heres the deal. The neat freak in me is in love with the features of the Bibagogo . It comes with a spoon that locks away in its own compartent so it doesn’t get crap all over my fancy now purse/diaper bag. Both sides wipe down and two cloth holders and the fact that my even 4 year old can’t even yank it off ( the snaps are amazing! ) is why I love it! While between 20-45 $ for a bib may seem like a lot I can’t even imagine how much one would save on laundry, time ,lost baby cloths and spoons.  What a great gift for a mommy like me.

Our thanks to Andrea and bravo for her bold and so true statement: “Motherhood inspires Greatness”!

Daddy Bloggers, Hoovers & Blogs

Friday, March 25th, 2011

One Daddy blogger that we regularly follow on our social network life, just posted a great picture of his son, Jakey in the Blue Rainboot Bibagogo.  Thanks for the post! Log onto Log onto Dad Street and share your ‘Hoover’ stories.

Here is the link:  http://www.dadstreet.com/2011/03/do-you-have-a-hoover/

Our ‘Hoover’ is a Brittany Spaniel who has put on a few too many pounds since 2 babies entered his domain. The kids let Baxter, our Hoover, eat out of the bottom Bibagogo pocket like a food trough!

Daddy blogging is a relatively a new and cool phenomenon.  Do you follow a parenting information or support blog?  If not, try following a blog that is told from ‘daddy’s perspective, these dads share what it’s like to be awoken by their loud screaming kids at 6am, finding the right barrette for their daughters’ hair and chasing after toddlers in the snow.’  It is interesting to be connected to how one dad views life through a dads lens.

We recommend Josh from DadStreet.  He is a busy dad with his two children, his Daddy Blog, and keeping up with family life.

Here are some of the links you can find him:

  • www.DadStreet.com: His personal blog focused on his dad views of daily life being a dad.
  • www.DadsTalking.com: Corporative effort of a few dads talking about being dads and being men, and not always in that order.
  • www.LateNightParents.com: A collaborative effort with another popular daddy blogger, Adam Cohen of DaDaROcks.  There is a live show every Monday at 11pm EST where you can interact with blog posting, interact with these two dads plus see product reviews/giveaways, and have some raw laughs. Episodes are rebroadcasted on Blip.TV, Vimeo, You Tube, iTunes, Tumblr, Posterous, and MomTV among others.
  • www.TwoSidesOneStory.com: This is a brand new site (launching March 28) . Josh from Dad Street teams with Jessica of www.MommasGoneCity.com. Interesting!  Get a mommy & daddy perspective and interaction online!

Alberta Moms Review an Alberta Designed and Made Bibagogo!

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

An amazing Alberta Mommy-Blogger a.k.a. Sweet Mummy, who life motto it, “It’s OK to be WEIRD!” just posted a lovely review of our Alberta-made Bibagogo on her site called It’s OK to be WEIRD!  Who Decides what Normal anyways?

Since being involved with marketing in this vast world of the internet, I have found that we (online business) often think so globally and forget that our very neighbour, friend down the street, mommy & daddy blogger in the next town or city over, is blogging, twittering, facebooking.  I literally stumbled upon Sweet Mummy and just had to connect with her.  How can you not when you read that she sing & dance through life.

Thanks to Sweet Mummy and her mommy-friends, Shan &  Tara, for supporting their neighbour’s inspiration, our Bibagogo!

Some of the posted reviews are here, please log onto her site to see more.

Shan S. – mom of 2 busy boys, ages 8 1/2 years old, and 22 months old:

[The Bibagogo] is functional and nice to have all the stuff together in one easy roll. I like the fabric and the size is great as well! Thanks for sharing it with me!

Tara I. – mom of 1 sweet boy, age 9 months:

I love my bibagogo! Everything about it is wonderful. The cute print, the easy wipe-able materials it is made out of, and all the usable pockets. It is so convenient to have a bib with a spoon and cloths all in one easy package in my diaper bag. My favorite thing about it is the length of the bib. I will definitely be buying some for my friends!

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to try this amazing product! Love it!

A product review from http://myweeview.com/

I’m sure all of you have been in this situation:  You are out with your child, you have all your food ready and a bib, and then you realize you forgot a baby spoon and you end up using a tea spoon and feeling guilty about it.  I know it has happened to me (more than once).  But, it doesn’t happen anymore!  There is a bib travelling system called Bibagogo, which is the creation of ISISunders, a Canadian baby fashion company from Alberta, Canada.  You will never be without a spoon or a cloth to clean your child again.

The Deluxe bib by  Bibagogo, is so easy!  It has two snaps around the neck so it can grow with your baby.  The Bibagogo is so long (the longest bib I have next to a full body bib with legs).  It reaches way past Genevieve’s tummy, so there is no chance that anything will make it onto her shirt or pants.  What is really great, is that in the back of the bib, there are little compartments to carry all your food accessories.  There is one long and skinny pocket for a baby spoon, and two square compartments for carrying things like a wash cloth or even some flash cards or a little toy.  The  Bibagogo also folds down into a very small compact little package making it easy to take with you wherever you go, it’s a “roll and go” system.

I leave this bib and all it’s accessories, in my diaper bag so I will be sure that when I am out and about, I will have everything that I need for feeding Genevieve.  It’s so neat to have everything stored in the back of the  Bibagogo, it always impresses the people I am with and I get reactions like “Oh,,, what a great idea”.  And it is a great idea.  It has really made my life a little bit easier, and isn’t that what we all want as parents?  Things that make our lives easier?

Another idea for this bib is to leave it at grandma’s house.  Because it’s so compact, it won’t take any space at the grandparents house and there will always be a generous size bib, and a spoon waiting for you when you are visiting.  I don’t know how many times I’ve forgotten to bring things to my Mom’s house.  I think it’s because sometimes we just end up stopping by without really having the intention of going there.  Needless to say, I won’t be bib and spoonless again at my Moms.

The Bibagogo is nice and bright, is a very generous size and is made out of a Eurppean Stain Resistant material that does not allow for stains or leaks.  You can actually just wash it off and use it a few times before it needs to be put into the washer.  The Bibagogo is very useful, and you will never see yourself looking for a baby spoon again.  It really makes sense for travelling well, as it’s becomes very compact and carries all your items.  The pocket that it rolls into is also a food catcher!  How clever is that?

There is also the original version which does not include all the little pockets in the back, but it does have the “roll and go” capabilities, and is the same size and has the 2 snaps around the neck.  But if you would like my humble opinion, go with the full meal deal, it’s worth it.
